Design of murals on concrete for the House of Technology, Eastern Bavarian Technical University Regensburg, 2015

Final round art competition for the House of Technology, Eastern Bavarian Technical University Regensburg, Regensburg State Building Authority

While walking through and around the Regensburg House of Technology, study goals such as "networked thinking", "holistic problem solutions" including "ecological, social and economic aspects" become virulent through an equally beautiful and irritating confrontation of image and space: The distorted shadow traces of a past, unrepeatable nature scene, which Albrecht Dürer captured in his famous watercolour painting "Das große Rasenstück" (Great Piece of Turf), run across and through the buildings. The elongated shadows, the alienated traces of the famous role model, not only capture an impossible moment, but open up a period in the functional architecture that oscillates between offence, duration and coming change. At the same time, the levels of representation and interpretation of the shadow image touch many dimensions of civil engineering studies (construction, technology, building history, cultural history, ecology).
