1st place in the art competition on the occasion of the new building of the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics at the Eastern Bavarian Technical University Regensburg. Awarded by the Free State of Bavaria / Bavarian State Ministry for Education and Culture, Science and Art, represented by the Regensburg State Building Authority

On the front wall opposite the main entrance of the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics appears a condensed, yet evasive singularity, embedded in a brighter event horizon. Anomalía (Black Hole) brings an unforeseen deviation and an intangible materiality to the Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics. The term comes from ancient Greek νωμαλία / anomalía = unevenness, irregularity. Anomalies are states that differ from what is expected, calculated and programmed. They become recognizable where mathematical and informatic thinking meets phenomena previously thought impossible or evasive.
